Cosmic Education for the Elementary Child (6–12 years)

Welcome to the First Children training centre in Cape Town, South Africa. We are proud to offer a fully certified AMI Diploma Course for educators working with children aged 6 to 12. Rooted in Maria Montessori’s cosmic vision and adapted for our local context, this course offers a rich, holistic path to becoming an AMI Montessori Elementary Guide.

Overview

This intensive diploma course offers a comprehensive foundation in Montessori theory and practice for the second plane of development. Through stories, experiments, and carefully prepared environments, we learn to support the growing reasoning mind, moral awareness, and thirst for knowledge that define the elementary years.

You’ll engage with key Montessori subjects: Language, Mathematics, Geometry, Biology, History, Geography, Music, and Art—all presented as part of an integrated vision of education. Alongside your academic studies, you will develop hands-on experience with the Montessori materials in a model environment.
